A flock of birds swam across the sky.
Like a beautiful necklace around the blue-tinted landscape
They chirped their little throats off.
Probably making plans for dinner,
Talking about their babies back at their nest
The ones at the back taking advantage of the wind currents
Created by the ones at the front.
There came a bird flying in the opposite direction to them
They tilted their heads together,
And gawked at a lone bird passing through them.
It did not follow the necklace.
The other birds raised their eyebrows.
It could be out of contempt or jealousy
It was Free
Free of societal conditionings
Free of family chains
Free of rights and wrongs of the judgmental world
Unshackled, unfettered, unrestrained of relations
It may occasionally visit the graveyard.
And lay flowers on the departed with a heavy heart.
Its heart may be broken into a million pieces.
But its legs will never be tied up.
