According to me, there are two types of laughter.
First, when we are alone and sad, we try to watch something interesting. It’s a comedy movie, series, or a stand-up. We laugh our guts out. We laugh at the intelligence of the joke and marvel at the art. But that’s that. It is not a happy laughter; it is just a plain one. When the show ends, we return to our sad and lonely selves again.
The other type is happy laughter. It is when we laugh with the people we love. They make us laugh with their silly jokes. When we tell someone else that joke, we realize it is not even that funny. But at the time you were on the floor convulsed with laughter. That happy laugh remains with us for a long time. It gets us through tough times.
