Society uncles these days are very excited to share links to download “The Kerala Story” movie on society groups. “Must watch movie” they say. “Very Factual” and “All Girls Must Watch”. I wanted to reply that for facts, you can just do a Google search, you do not have to promote a propaganda movie distorting facts. But I know better than to argue with these WhatsApp University geniuses.
This is obviously another opportunity for society to condescend to women. My own followers on Instagram send me reels that say, “Watch this movie, be careful; LADKIYO, AB TOH SUDHAR JAO”. Yes, it all comes down to women making bad decisions rather than fighting terror or researching the truth. It comes to restricting women’s ability to marry according to their own will. They never miss a chance to look down on women and tell them they are wrong or incapable of making decisions, rather than addressing the matter at hand.
